The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) comprising Cambodia, the People’s Republic of China (PRC, specifically Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province), the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
Executing Agency
Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Division of the Southeast Asia Department serving as the focal point.
Implementing Agency
Working Group on Agriculture (WGA) National Secretariat Support Units (NSSUs) of the agriculture ministries of the GMS countries—the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (Cambodia), Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (Lao PDR), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (Myanmar), Ministry of Agriculture (People’s Republic of China), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (Thailand), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Viet Nam) are the main implementing agencies.
Implementation Arrangement
The WGA-Secretariat (WGA-S), based in Bangkok, Thailand, is the project implementation unit (PIU), and links the EA and the IA by providing both technical and operational support to the program.
