Proposed ADB Project to Help Boost Cambodia’s Fisheries and Tourism Sectors

A proposed Asian Development Bank (ADB) project will help finance two standard ports that will boost the fisheries and tourism sectors of Cambodia’s Kep province.

A report by the Khmer Times shared provincial officials and ADB are working to establish the ports’ locations, according to Mr. Vao Sokha, Kep Deputy Governor.

The planned ADB Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project will enhance and promote sustainable coastal and marine ecosystems and fisheries value chains in coastal provinces of Kampot, Kep, Koh Kong, and Preah Sihanouk in Cambodia. Project outcomes will (i) enhance coastal and marine ecosystem management; (ii) improve Climate resilient post-harvest infrastructure, (iii) promote investment in safe and sustainable fisheries value chain; and (iv) establish and pilot the Marine Finance Facility.
