Gender Strategy
Gender Strategy
GMS-2030 is closely aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and acknowledges the intersectional impacts of gender inequalities across all priority areas, as well as the need for specific and integrated approaches alike for advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women, girls, men, and boys across the subregion. In addition, GMS-2030 analyzes the human capital constraints that face the subregion, with a particular focus on the gender-based stereotypes that limit 50% of the population from participating actively in, and benefiting directly from, development activities— whether sociocultural, economic, environmental, or political—culminating in the preparation of a GMS Gender Strategy as appropriate.
