GMS Gender Strategy Implementation Plan (GSIP) 2025-2030

The GMS Gender Strategy Implementation Plan (GSIP) 2025–2030 was developed in consultation with the GMS national secretariats, including the gender focal persons of each GMS country. It provides four sets of activities, target outputs, and performance indicators to develop the capacity of the GMS Program or set up the basic requirements to achieve the Gender Strategy’s three objectives.

GMS Gender Strategy

A regional approach to advance gender equality in the GMS would support the efforts of individual countries on gender equality. Gender equality is intrinsically linked to development, prosperity, and sustainability. Without the equal participation of men and women there can be no sustainability or inclusive growth.

OBJECTIVES OF THE GMS GENDER STRATEGY

Improve existing methods and develop new and innovative approaches to gender mainstreaming activities to ensure equal access and participation in opportunities arising from the GMS Program.
Complement subregional efforts to explicitly address gender-based barriers affecting the full participation of individuals of all ages, abilities, and in all socioeconomic spheres.
Address pervasive gender norms that disadvantage one group over another
