Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone: A Beacon of Growth and Development

The Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in Cambodia marked a significant upsurge in trade activities in January and February 2024. The trade volume through this economic corridor reached $628 million, reflecting a robust growth of 38.3% compared to the same period in 2023.
The SSEZ welcomed eight new enterprises in 2024, bringing the total number of enterprises to 188, and generating over 30,000 jobs. The SSEZ can host up to 300 enterprises.
The SSEZ is strategically located near the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port. This strategic geographical location, coupled with the zone's infrastructure, makes it a critical node in Cambodia's economic landscape.
The SSEZ is a joint venture between investors from Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and stands as a cornerstone project under the PRC’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
