CBTA: Joint Transport and Customs Sub-Committees Meeting

The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Joint Transport and Customs Sub-Committee meeting was held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 10-11 September 2024 to promote the Early Harvest (EH) Implementation of the GMS Cross-Border Transport Facilitation Agreement (CBTA).

GMS countries reported their progress in issuing EH permits, discussed expansion of routes for EH, and shared critical transport and trade data. The meeting also identified solutions and next steps for the issues identified during the EH trial run in June.

The EH CBTA is a flagship GMS initiative which allows vehicles with permits to travel across the subregion.
