Lao PDR Plans Expressway Linking Houaphanh to Viet Nam

A feasibility study will be undertaken for the construction of an expressway from Houaphanh, a province in eastern Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), to its border with Viet Nam, reported the Vientiane Times. The project is part of a larger expressway construction project linking Houaphanh with the Lao PDR capital of Vientiane. 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the Government of Lao PDR, Daochaleun Construction and THB Group notes that the 80km expressway would run from Huanmuang district in Houaphanh to the Nam Soi - Na Meo International Border Checkpoint at the border between Lao PDR and Vietnam.
