Chu Lai Port in Viet Nam as New Export Gateway

Chu Lai Port aims to become a major international freight forwarding hub for import and export of goods in Viet Nam’s central and Central Highlands regions. The Trường Hải International Logistics Limited Liability Company, operator of Chu Lai Port, has expanded the port's scale and upgraded its entire service chain to achieve this target. The port has linkages to coastal roads, highways, and large industrial clusters and offers accessibility to the East-West economic corridor.

The port is equipped to provide full-package services for goods including liquid, gas, container cargo, non-standard large and heavy pieces, and bulk cargo, of up to four million tonnes a year. Its warehouses are built to international standards and divided into specialized areas, including bonded warehouses, ordinary warehouses, cold storage, and container yards.

Ports that offer multimodal transport is an optimal solution to increase input cargo sources and reduce shipping time and costs. Chu Lai Port is developing domestic and cross-border road transport routes and starting maritime routes to directly connect to major shipping ports in the PRC, Republic of Korea, Japan, and India.

The ADB-supported East-West Economic Corridor runs from Da Nang Port in Viet Nam, through Lao PDR, Thailand, and Myanmar. It links the following important commercial areas: Mawlamyine-Myawaddy in Myanmar; Mae Sot-Phitsanulok-Khon Kaen-Kalasin-Mukdahan in Thailand; Savannakhet-Dansavanh in Lao PDR; and Lao Bao-Hue-Dong Ha-Da Nang in Viet Nam.
