Dialogue Towards a GMS-wide Policy Platform for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management
The rich natural environment of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) has led to significant development to the economy and livelihoods, but the GMS countries, especially the Lower Mekong countries, are highly vulnerable to climate change and disasters.
Policy Dialogue and Demonstration Projects Orientation on Community-based Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in the GMS
Rural communities in the GMS (comprising 67 percent of the GMS population) are on the frontline of climate change and most vulnerable to losses and damages, and many lack the resources and capacity to deal with them.
A subregional cooperation program focused on its fundamental strengths of community, connectivity, and competitiveness while embracing the core principles of environmental sustainability and resilience, internal and external integration, and inclusivity, for building a GMS community with a bright shared future
