42nd Meeting of the GMS Tourism Working Group (TWG-42)
The 42nd Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Tourism Working Group (TWG-42) was held in Phu Quoc Island of Kien Giang province in Viet Nam on 4 December 2018.
Hosted by the Government of Viet Nam, the meeting was co-organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO). It was attended by representatives of the national tourism organizations of the six GMS countries, provincial tourism department of Kien Giang province, MTCO, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and other development partners, including ASEAN-China Center and ASEAN-Korea Center.
The agenda included country reports; a review of activities, projects, and achievements in 2018; and updates from development partners. The meeting also discussed the implementation of the GMS tourism sector strategy, GMS tourism marketing strategy and preparations for Mekong Tourism Forum 2019 and the next meeting of the working group.
