52nd GMS Tourism Working Group Meeting (TWG-52)

The 52nd GMS Tourism Working Group Meeting (TWG-52) was held on 21 November 2023. It was attended by senior and mid-level officials representing the National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries, Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office, development partners and organizations including the ASEAN Japan Centre, GMS Secretariat and private sector. 

The TWG-52 meeting shared updates from GMS countries; travel industry update and visitor forecast, including for 2024; updates on GMS Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam; and a presentation from the ASEAN-Japan Centre. The meeting also gave updates on preparations for the GMS Tourism Strategy 2030 and the development of a sustainable tourism destination certification program for GMS.
