16th Meeting of the GMS Regional Power Trade Coordination Committee (RPTCC-16)
The 16th Meeting of the Regional Power Trade Coordination Committee (RPTCC-16) was held to (i) open and commence the evaluation of the bids for the venue for the headquarters of the Regional Power Coordination Center (RPCC) which will serve as a permanent institution to enhance regional power trade and implement regional power interconnection in the GMS; (ii) provide updates on the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries’ power development plans focusing on cross-border projects; (iii) review the Updated Articles of Association of the RPCC; and (iv) discuss the continuing assistance of development partners to promote power trade in the GMS. Furthermore, a session on the 4th Meeting of the Working Group on Performance Standards and Grid Code (WGPG) was held to discuss the (i) consolidated gap analysis for regional performance standards (in one format); (ii) draft implementation plan with investment requirements of the gap filling measures (legal, institutional and technical) by each country; and (iii) necessary work for transmission regulation and metering arrangements.
