BANGKOK, THAILAND (30 November 2011) – The International Conference GMS 2020 scheduled for 15-16 November 2011 in Bangkok has been postponed due to the prevailing flooding of Bangkok and its vicinity. The Central Business District and Airport are unaffected to date and the authorities have managed to limit the extent of flooding to a great degree. Nevertheless the next two weeks are considered a period of uncertainty due a large amount of runoff from the North still flowing into Bangkok.

We also wish to postpone the Conference with deference to Government of Thailand's priority to address immediate post flood relief and rehabilitation operations.

New Date of the Conference: 20-21 February 2012 at Plaza Athenee, Bangkok.
