Project Description
This TA project will support the next phase of ADB-s participation in the development of Myanmar-s road transport sector.

Picturesque tree-lined roads lead from Nyaung Shwe to neighboring communities around Inle Lake. This area is one of Myanmar's most popular tourist attractions.

Motorists wait for traffic to start moving in Yangon. Car usage is on the rise, causing much traffic congestion in the city.

Commuters loading the customized pick-up truck, which serves as the usual public transport in Yangon. Over 300 public and private bus lines operate about 6,300 crowded buses around the city, carrying over 4.4 million passengers a day.

Yangon residents board the Circular Train to get to the outskirts of the city. This local train system is heavily utilized by the populace, selling about 150,000 tickets daily.
