Project Description
The project aims to strengthen public health security in the face of emerging diseases and other communicable diseases relevant to the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) by improving public-health security systems and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in border areas in Cambodia, the Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam. It focuses mainly on mobile and migrant populations (MMPs), as well as on other vulnerable groups.
Progress (as of March 2021)
Ongoing. The project midterm review (MTR) was conducted during Q3 2019. Project implementation and achievement of outputs/ milestone activities are on- track up to MTR. Countries revised their annual operation plans for 2020 to support necessary preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some activities (trainings and workshops) in 2020 that were affected by COVID-19 are being rescheduled. A video about the project is being prepared and will be presented at the 24th GMS Ministerial Conference in November 2020.
