Project Description
The principal objective of the Program is to support the Borrower's (Cambodia) countercyclical fiscal policy in response on the COVID-19 pandemic, including by mitigating the adverse impact on poverty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The scope of the Program includes the following social, health and economic measures: (i) providing social assistance to individuals including informal workers and famersthrough the cash handouts program; (ii) strengthen the healthcare sector to cope with potential surges in COVID-19 cases; and (iii) tax relief measures to support small to medium sized enterprises impacted by COVID-19 implemented. The Program is described in more detail in the Policy Letter. The Program is expected to be completed by 30 June 2021.
