Asian Development Bank and Viet Nam: Fact Sheet

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) supports Viet Nam in promoting job creation and competitiveness, increasing the inclusiveness of infrastructure and service delivery, and improving environmental sustainability and climate change response.

ADB assistance to Viet Nam amounts to $16 billion since 1993.

The ADB country partnership strategy, 2016–2020 for Viet Nam supports investments and policy reforms that promote more socially equitable and environmentally sustainable economic development. ADB’s strategic framework for Viet Nam is based on three pillars: promoting job creation and competitiveness, increasing the inclusiveness of infrastructure and service delivery, and improving environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

To assist Viet Nam’s transition to upper middle-income country status, ADB will provide “finance++” support—providing finance, sharing knowledge, and leveraging other sources of finance (including the private sector).

Updated yearly, this ADB Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Viet Nam as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.
